Life's tough blows

We were dealt a real blow this morning when our Dad had a stroke. Complete shock for all the family. He's unwell anyway but this just seemed so unfair to land this on him with everything else.

So we're all running around helping each other out best we can, as families do. Luckily, I have some fantastic friends who have been of great support and we have to thank those we've had to disappoint and postpone our performances. Their understanding has been a real relief.

We're all on Dadwatch at the moment and so grateful for the speed at which the Ambulance service acted and as for the care he is receiving at Worcestershire Royal Infirmary in the Acute Stroke Unit, it is utterly fabulous. He's having every piece of therapy they can give him.

So while it's tough, heartbreaking, distressing and draining, we can take comfort that he is receiving the care he deserves.

Which helps so much, because Dad would want his girls to carry on singing and so we will in a few days. He's very proud of us and I hope that one day, very soon, he will recognise us again. Maybe we'll sing for him? I've heard that music is incredible therapy.
